OpenHuman Notion Integration Guide — AI That Knows Your Knowledge Base

2026-05-25~6 min read

Notion is where many people store their knowledge — notes, wikis, project docs, and personal databases. OpenHuman's Notion integration lets your AI search and reference this information seamlessly.

What You Get

  • Full text search — OpenHuman can search across all your Notion pages and databases
  • Context-aware answers — ask questions and get answers from your own notes
  • Auto-sync — changes to your Notion pages are reflected in OpenHuman's memory
  • Structured data — database entries are indexed as structured information

Setting Up Notion Integration

Step 1: Create a Notion Integration

Go to notion.so/my-integrations and click "New Integration". Name it "OpenHuman" and select the workspace. Copy the Internal Integration Secret.

Step 2: Share Pages with OpenHuman

For each page or database you want OpenHuman to access, click "Share" and add your integration. Without this step, OpenHuman won't see those pages.

Step 3: Configure in OpenHuman

Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Notion and enter your integration secret:

[integrations.notion] enabled = true api_key = "ntn_your_integration_secret" sync_interval_minutes = 30

What You Can Ask

  • "Search my notes for the marketing plan"
  • "What did I write about AI agents in my journal?"
  • "Find the meeting notes from last sprint planning"
  • "Summarize the onboarding wiki"

Tips for Best Results

  • Structure your pages — well-structured headings and databases are easier for the AI to parse
  • Share relevant pages — you don't need to share everything, just what you want the AI to access
  • Update permissions — when you create new pages, don't forget to share them with the integration

Privacy

All Notion data is cached locally. OpenHuman only sees pages you explicitly share with the integration. You can remove the integration anytime from your Notion settings.
