OpenHuman Slack Integration Guide — AI That Monitors Your Team Chats

2026-05-25~7 min read

Slack is where work happens for millions of teams. OpenHuman's Slack integration syncs your messages, threads, and channels into your AI's memory — making your assistant aware of everything happening in your workspace.

What You Get

  • Channel sync — choose which channels OpenHuman monitors
  • Thread awareness — follows conversations and understands context
  • Smart summaries — "what happened in the engineering channel today?"
  • Memory integration — project discussions and decisions enrich your Memory Tree

Setting Up Slack Integration

Step 1: Open Settings

Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Slack in OpenHuman.

Step 2: Connect Your Workspace

Click "Connect Slack". A browser window opens — log into your Slack workspace and authorize OpenHuman. The app requests read access to channels and messages.

Step 3: Select Channels

After authorization, choose which channels OpenHuman should monitor. You can select all public channels or pick specific ones.

Configuration

[integrations.slack] enabled = true sync_interval_minutes = 10 channels = ["general", "engineering", "design"] include_threads = true summarize_daily = true

What You Can Ask

  • "What was decided about the redesign in the design channel?"
  • "Summarize the #engineering channel from yesterday"
  • "Who mentioned me in Slack today?"
  • "What's the status of the launch discussion?"

Privacy

Slack messages are stored locally in your Memory Tree. OpenHuman never shares your Slack data with third parties. You can also limit integration to specific channels only.
